Born in the Netherlands of Caribbean parents (her mother from St Maarten & father Suriname), Jazz & Soul singer-songwriter Mischa Laikah released her debut album “Life. Music. Love” in 2012. Hardened by her upbringing between cultures, she previously pursued medicine before relenting to her life-long passion and entering the music industry in 2008. She has shared the stage with acts including Perfect, Eroz Ramazzotti, Mojo Morgan, Kindred the Family Soul, Orange Grove, and many more. Also an entertainer, she co-hosts the talk show ‘Girls ‘N Cocktails’, which explores contemporary issues impacting young women from fresh cultural perspectives. Describing herself as a ‘cheerful’ but ‘driven’ vocal coach, Mischu takes her pupil’s interests to heart to develop their interests, in their best interests, with meticulous care and attention – imparting her ‘tough cookie’ mentality when taking to the stage. In addition to training aspiring performance artists at Virtuosi, Mischu runs performance and master classes for all ages, including her own ‘Glee Club’ and ‘Pop Choir’. He is a valuable asset.” Trevor teaches classical and electric guitar to young and old, as well as coaching rock bands and ensembles for our biannual concert series.
