Sofía Isabel Pastor (La Rioja, 1984). She began her violin studies with Joan Lluís Jordá at the age of eight. Later on she continued with Anna Bage at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Ferraz in Madrid where she graduated in2005 with maximum distinction. In 2005 shestudied with Jaring Walta at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Den Haag and in 2006 she started her Bachelor studies with professor Andras Czifra at Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Rotterdam where she graduated in 2010. In 2012, she did her Master degree in violin performance with professors Gordan Nikolic and Goran Gribajvebic at the same conservatory. She also specialized in music pedagogy applied to violin studies. She has been awarded with the Second Prize in the “V Chamber Music Competition Ferraz Conservatoire” (2004). This young violinist has been a member of different orchestras such as Chamartín Orchestra, Ferraz Conservatory Orchestra, Cervera Orchestra, AKO (Atheneum Kamer Orkest), CSO (Codarts Symphony Orchestra), Orchestra of the Koninklijk Conservatorium, NJO, Prince Claus Conservatory Orchestra, Sinfonia Rotterdam. She then had the opportunity to work with different conductors such as Reinbert de Leeuw, Ludevic Morlot, Phillip Picket, Arie van Beek, Vitaly Pisarenko and Yannick Nezet Seguin performing in concert halls including the National Auditorium of Spain (Madrid), Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Doelen of Rotterdam, Muziekgebouw Frits Philips in Eindhoven and De Oosterpoort in Groningen. She has received advice & Mastercasses from renowned artists like Anna Baget, Gonçal Comellas, Mauricio Fuks, Mimi Zweig and Gordan Nikolic. She is currently a member of Camerata Ardesko and Cuarteto Lorca, under the guidance of Benzion Shamir (Codarts, voor de Kunsten) and Asdis Valdimarsdotti (Koninklijk Conservatorium).
