Virtuosi NL was born from a need to coordinate the teaching activities of the international specialists based at the Royal Conservatiore, with the educational needs of the expatriate community. Virtuosi serves both to supplement the income from grants and scholarships of those who come to study here, as well as to provide structure and continuity in music education amid what is a highly mobile and transient demographic.
The Hague is a meeting point for excellence in both business and education. The ‘Virtuosi’ concept is to marry best practices from both around a structured curriculum based upon core elements of the AMEB, ABRSM, GSMD and Trinity College syllabi. Our teachers represent the next generation of international Virtuosi. We invite you to share first hand with us the pure joy that comes from understanding and making music.
In music education the first steps are often critical. Sound technique and a solid grounding will allow each student to reach their potential far more quickly, without need for redress. Our teachers are of the highest pedagogical pedigree, and strive to ensure that each pupil comes away with a joyful music making experience. To this end we offer individually tailored programs from infant to adult, beginner to advanced, across all styles & instruments.

Trevor Howe – Director
Director Trevor Howe (B.A.Ad.Dip.Mus.Grad.Dip.Ed.) holds a post-graduate degree in Educational Psychology, and has taught R-12 music in Australia, Europe and Asia – most recently ‘Music in English’ for Earlybird’s ‘Natuurlijk Engels op de Basisschool’ program (Rotterdam). Trevor worked closely with Virtuosi founder & director Tom Penn-Davies (AUS) from the school’s inception in 2005. Tom has previously recognised Trevor’s dedication, and generously provides the logistics in support of Virtuosi NL: “Trevor’s unique teaching methods enable students to develop a strong technical ability and an appreciation and understanding of music across a variety of styles.
